In Yoga, it’s often emphasized on Looking at the world as a Witness.

The goal to be achieved by this habit; is to attain true Peace. A Peace deep within; which reflects not only on our mortal bodies, but also on every activity we undertake.

Looking at The World as a Witness in essence means -- Looking at the happenings around us; with an understanding that we are just a witness to the event; just registering it as a camera, completely apathetic to it.

This habit helps, as it puts brakes on our human nature to analyze things too fast and as a consequence make fast & erroneous judgments -- Judgments which make our mind hold faulty preoccupations about fellow humans, society and the world. When we look at the happenings around us; with a witness’s consciousness, we are also getting wiser about the our limitations as a human being, and become more accommodating to the events taking place in the world.

By stopping ourselves from reacting to situations too fast; we also prevent ourselves from too much disappointment and anger -- A positive habit, which allows us to contemplate on events elaborately, whenever we are relaxed. If mastered, you take great decisions not only in your personal life, but also in your professional life.

Hence start looking at the world as a Witness; if not always, then for a few times a day. It helps you realize True Peace.
